Dayton Audio RS52FN-8

The RS52FN-8 is the fabric-dome version of Dayton’s Reference Series 2" dome midrange, alongside the aluminum-dome RS52AN-8. Dayton pitches it on smooth and natural midrange performance with excellent off-axis response, which is what a dome midrange is for. A cone midrange starts to beam in the upper mids, while a 2" dome keeps dispersion wide right up to the tweeter crossover. That makes it a good fit for 3-ways where you want an even power response. Its copper-clad motor reduces distortion.

Its usable range is roughly 500 Hz to 8.5 kHz. In practice, cross it in no lower than about 700–800 Hz from the woofer and up around 4–5 kHz to the tweeter. It’s rated at 60 W RMS and 120 W max, and is 8 Ω. It pairs naturally with other Reference Series woofers and tweeters, but works with any high-quality drivers.
